Free Enhancv Alternative: EZProCV vs Enhancv (2026)

By EZProCV Editorial Team · Updated

Enhancv is known for design-led resumes and a deep set of AI features. Its free plan, though, is a short window: 7 days, with Enhancv branding and a limit of 12 section items. If you're looking for an Enhancv alternative that stays free after the first week, this page compares the two tools using what Enhancv publishes on its own pricing page, homepage and templates page as of 18 October 2026.

We build EZProCV, so we've tried hard to be fair: every Enhancv detail below comes from an Enhancv page in the sources, and we say plainly where Enhancv does more. It has an AI assistant, one-click tailoring to a job ad, a resume checker, resume translation and an AI job search. EZProCV has none of these. It is a free resume and cover letter builder with ATS-friendly templates and a text-based PDF download.

Quick answer: EZProCV is a free Enhancv alternative for people who want to keep building and downloading without a subscription. Enhancv's free plan is valid for 7 days, adds Enhancv branding and caps you at 12 section items; Pro is listed at $39 a month, $69 a quarter or $99 for six months. Enhancv is stronger on AI writing, job tailoring, resume checking and translation.

Enhancv

Free plan: $0, valid for 7 days, with all resume templates, basic sections, Enhancv branding and a maximum of 12 section items. Pro removes branding and limits and adds the ATS check, content suggestions and up to 300 resumes and cover letters. Pro is listed at $39 monthly, $69 quarterly (billed every 3 months) and $99 for six months, which Enhancv advertises as "starting from $16.50" a month. The plan cards didn't display prices when we loaded the page, so these figures come from the pricing page's title and embedded price list. Its FAQ offers refunds when a problem is Enhancv's fault.

Where Enhancv is stronger

  • AI writing and tailoring. Enhancv's AI assistant suggests stronger wording as you write, and its tailoring tool compares your resume with a job ad, shows a match score and lists keywords to add. EZProCV has no AI writing or keyword matching.
  • A resume checker. Enhancv runs a free online resume checker with 27 checks, and Pro includes an ATS check in the builder. EZProCV has no ATS checker.
  • Design depth. Enhancv advertises hundreds of templates and design combinations, plus unusual sections such as Day of My Life or Life Philosophy for a more personal resume.
  • Languages and translation. The builder works in 12 languages besides English, and AI translation covers languages including Arabic, Chinese, Japanese and Hindi.
  • Job search. An AI job search over more than a million live job ads and an application tracker are part of the platform.

Where EZProCV is stronger

  • Free after week one. EZProCV is free to build and download, with no 7-day limit. Enhancv's free plan is valid for 7 days.
  • No branding. EZProCV's PDF carries no watermark. Enhancv's free plan includes Enhancv branding.
  • Import, preview, share. Import an existing PDF or DOCX resume, edit it with a live preview that matches the downloaded file, and send it as a link when an attachment isn't needed.
  • Gulf-ready fields. Optional photo, nationality, visa status and notice period fields help with applications in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the rest of the Gulf.

Who should choose Enhancv, and who should choose EZProCV?

Enhancv is the better fit if you

  • want AI help rewriting bullet points and tailoring your resume to each job ad
  • want a resume score and feedback before you apply
  • care about distinctive design and personal sections
  • need your resume in another language, including Arabic, and are willing to pay for Pro

EZProCV is the better fit if you

  • want a tool that stays free after the first week
  • don't want branding on your resume
  • have a long work history that won't fit within 12 section items
  • are applying in the Gulf and need nationality, visa status and notice period on the page

If you use AI rewriting anywhere, check that every number and claim is yours. Recruiters will ask about it.

How to switch from Enhancv to EZProCV

  1. Download your resume from Enhancv while you can. Enhancv's homepage FAQ says that after the 7-day free period, downloads need Pro; its templates page says you can still download but need to upgrade to edit. Either way, save a PDF early.
  2. Import it into EZProCV. EZProCV imports PDF and DOCX files, so upload the PDF and review each section.
  3. Choose a template. Pick one of the ATS-friendly templates, then adjust fonts, colors and spacing with the live preview.
  4. Move your cover letter. Paste it into the cover letter builder and use the same fonts and colors as your resume.
  5. Cancel Enhancv Pro if you subscribed. Enhancv sells monthly, quarterly and 6-month subscriptions, so check your account's billing settings before the next billing date.

Custom Enhancv sections (such as Day of My Life) may import as plain text. Decide whether to keep them as a short section or remove them.

Templates, columns and ATS

An applicant tracking system (ATS) is the software employers use to receive and search applications. Parsing problems usually come from text locked inside images, unusual headings or a reading order the software can't follow.

Enhancv explains on its pricing page that its PDFs keep a full text layer and that its two-column layouts keep each section within one column, which it says preserves reading order. EZProCV's templates are ATS-friendly and every download is a text-based PDF, so the same file works for the ATS and for the recruiter.

Whichever builder you choose, open the downloaded PDF, select the text and copy it into a plain document. If it comes out in the right order with your headings intact, an ATS can read it too. Our guide to making a resume ATS-friendly covers more checks.

Verdict

Enhancv is the more powerful tool if you want AI rewriting, tailoring to job ads, a resume checker and translation, and you're willing to pay $39 a month, $69 a quarter or $99 for six months. Its free plan is best treated as a 7-day trial: it's branded and capped at 12 section items. If you want a resume builder that stays free, with no branding and a text-based PDF you can download any time, EZProCV is the practical Enhancv alternative, with import, a share link and optional Gulf fields.

Frequently asked questions

For a short time. Enhancv's pricing page says the free plan is valid for 7 days, includes Enhancv branding and allows a maximum of 12 section items. After that you need Pro to remove the limits. Enhancv's homepage FAQ adds that downloads aren't possible after the 7 days unless you go Pro.
Enhancv's pages differ slightly. The homepage FAQ says you can keep using the builder but can't download without Pro. The templates page says you can still download but need to upgrade to edit or change templates. If you're on the free plan, download a PDF before the seven days are up.
No. EZProCV is free to build and download, and the text-based PDF carries no watermark. You can also share your resume as a link, or import an existing PDF or DOCX resume and keep editing it with a live preview.
No. EZProCV has no AI writing, keyword matching or ATS score. To tailor a resume yourself, read the job ad, mirror its key skills and job titles where they're true for you, and lead with your most relevant achievements. Our ATS guide shows how.
Enhancv's pricing page lists AI translation into languages including Arabic. EZProCV has no translation feature, so you'd write the Arabic version yourself or work with a translator. Check which language each employer asks for before you translate.
EZProCV has optional fields for a photo, nationality, visa status and notice period, which Gulf CVs often include. We didn't find dedicated fields for these on Enhancv's pages. See our UAE resume format guide for what to include.
