Flight Attendant Resume Example (2026): Sample, Summary, Skills and Gulf Airline Tips

By EZProCV Editorial Team · Updated

This flight attendant resume example is for experienced cabin crew moving to a new airline and for first-time applicants coming from hotels, restaurants, retail or customer service. You get a complete sample resume, summaries for three levels, before-and-after bullets and the keywords airline recruiters screen for, plus specific advice for the Gulf carriers that hire crew from around the world.

Airlines hire crew for safety first and service second, and your resume should show both. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics notes that flight attendants typically need a high school diploma and 1 or 2 years of service experience, complete several weeks of airline training, and receive the FAA Certificate of Demonstrated Proficiency after passing it (BLS). BLS reports median pay of $63,580 in May 2025 and projects 9% employment growth from 2025 to 2035.

Airline recruitment is also high-volume, with open days and online assessments. A one-page resume that is easy to scan and matches the airline's stated requirements gets you to the next stage.

Quick answer: A strong flight attendant resume opens with a short summary that pairs safety with service: years flying, aircraft types, routes and languages. List roles with bullets on passengers served, safety and medical incidents handled, customer scores and onboard sales. Add your cabin crew attestation or FAA certificate, first aid training and languages. If you are new, lead with hospitality and customer service experience. Keep it to one page.

How do you write a flight attendant resume summary?

Combine safety and service in three or four lines:

  1. Experience: years flying, aircraft types, short- or long-haul, cabin class
  2. Scale: passengers per flight or sectors flown
  3. Strengths: medical and safety handling, premium service, sales
  4. Languages: airlines list language skills as an advantage, especially on international routes

Senior flight attendant with 5 years on A320, A350 and B787 aircraft, serving up to 330 passengers per flight. Lead premium-cabin service, manage in-flight medical events calmly and speak English, Arabic and French.

For first-time applicants, replace aircraft and routes with hospitality experience, guest numbers and service results.

What should you put on a flight attendant resume with no airline experience?

BLS notes that airlines typically look for 1 or 2 years of experience in a service occupation, such as restaurants, hotels or resorts. Build your resume around that:

  • Service experience with numbers: guests per day, review scores, complaints resolved
  • Safety and care: first aid certificate, lifeguard, childcare or healthcare roles
  • Languages, with an honest level (native, fluent, professional, conversational)
  • Teamwork in shifts: night, weekend and holiday work
  • Travel and cultural experience only if it shows adaptability or language skills

A student resume example or customer service representative resume example shows how to write these bullets.

Which certifications and requirements should a flight attendant list?

List what proves you are qualified, and what the airline will check:

Item How to write it
Crew qualification FAA Certificate of Demonstrated Proficiency (US), cabin crew attestation (UK, EU)
Aircraft types A320 family, A350, B777, B787
Training First aid and AED, dangerous goods, security, recurrent dates
Languages Each language with a level
Passport "Valid passport with unrestricted travel" if true

BLS explains that US flight attendants train separately for each aircraft type and complete recurrent training every year, so current training dates matter. Leave out height and weight unless the airline asks for them on the application form.

How do you apply to Gulf airlines as cabin crew?

Gulf carriers recruit crew from many countries and often hold open days or assessment days worldwide. Their published requirements are specific, so match them on your resume. As of October 2026, the Emirates cabin crew careers page lists, among others, a minimum age of 21, a height of at least 160 cm with an arm reach of 212 cm, at least high school (Grade 12) education, fluent written and spoken English, no visible tattoos in uniform and at least 1 year of hospitality or customer service experience (Emirates Group Careers). It also asks candidates to bring an up-to-date English CV.

  • Write your resume in English and keep it to one page.
  • Add nationality and passport status; a professional photo is often expected by Gulf carriers.
  • Show multicultural service and languages clearly.
  • Check each airline's own careers page before applying, because requirements change and vary by airline.

Our guides to the UAE resume format and applying for Qatar jobs from abroad cover the personal details Gulf employers expect.

What format should a flight attendant resume use?

One page, reverse-chronological, with a clean single-column layout. Airlines use online application systems, so avoid tables, icons and graphics that may not parse correctly. Save a text-based PDF and name the file with your name and the role.

EZProCV's free templates include ATS-friendly layouts and an optional photo field for airlines that request one. Pair your resume with our flight attendant cover letter example.

How a flight attendant resume changes by country

US & Canada

No photo, age or physical details on the resume; airlines collect what they need on the application form. Mention your FAA Certificate of Demonstrated Proficiency or Transport Canada flight attendant certificate, aircraft types and work authorization. BLS notes US airlines require eligibility to work in the US and a valid passport.

UK & Ireland

Use "CV" and list your UK CAA or Irish (IAA) cabin crew attestation, aircraft types, recurrent training dates and languages. Photos and date of birth are normally left off. See the UK CV format guide.

Gulf (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar)

Gulf carriers usually expect nationality, passport details, languages and often a professional photo, and some publish minimum age, height and arm-reach requirements. Crew are typically based in the airline's hub city. Read the airline's own careers page and see our guide on whether a Qatar CV needs a photo.

India

Indian airlines often use the title "cabin crew" or "air hostess" and expect a degree or hospitality diploma, language skills and a professional photo for some applications. List any aviation academy course completed and the DGCA-related training you hold, plus passport validity for international carriers. See the India CV format guide.

Common flight attendant resume mistakes

  • Focusing only on service and forgetting safety, first aid and emergency training.
  • Not stating aircraft types, routes or passengers per flight.
  • Listing languages without a level, or overstating fluency that an interview will test.
  • Using a design-heavy resume with photos and graphics when the airline does not request a photo.
  • Ignoring an airline's published requirements, such as age, education or service experience.
  • Sending the same generic resume to every airline instead of matching each carrier's stated priorities.

Frequently asked questions

None in content. US airlines use "flight attendant", while UK, European, Gulf and Asian carriers more often say "cabin crew" or "cabin attendant", and some Indian employers still use "air hostess". Use the title in the job posting in your headline and include the other terms naturally in your summary or skills.
Only when the airline asks. US, Canadian and UK airlines generally don't want one on the resume. Many Gulf and Asian carriers do request a professional photo, sometimes full-length. Use a recent, plain-background photo in business dress, and use EZProCV's optional photo field so the layout stays ATS-friendly.
Build 1–2 years of customer service in a hotel, restaurant, retail store or call center, get first aid certified and develop a second language. Then apply to airlines' open days with a one-page resume that shows guest numbers, review scores and how you handled difficult situations.
Many airline portals ask for one or include short motivation questions. Keep it to three or four paragraphs: why this airline, your service and safety experience, and your languages. See our flight attendant cover letter example.
One page for almost everyone. Cabin managers with 10+ years may use two, but recruiters screening hundreds of applications prefer one clear page. Remove old part-time jobs that don't add service or safety experience.
BLS lists attentiveness, communication, customer service, decision-making and physical stamina as important qualities. Airlines also value calm judgment in emergencies, teamwork, cultural awareness and languages. Prove them on your resume with specific numbers and situations, not just a list of adjectives.
