Which licenses and certificates matter for Qatar?
Regulated professions in Qatar need local licensing or registration before you can practice, and recruiters search CVs for these words. Give them their own section so they are easy to find.
- Healthcare: doctors, nurses, pharmacists and allied health staff are licensed through Qatar's Ministry of Public Health. List your home-country license, the year issued, and any Gulf license you already hold.
- Engineering: list your degree, your professional body membership and any Qatar or GCC engineering registration you hold.
- Safety and technical: NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, PMP, CCNA, AWS and similar certificates, with the year.
- Driving: a Qatar license is a real advantage in field roles.

Common mistakes on Qatar CVs
- No visa status or notice period. The recruiter has to guess, and many will not.
- Squeezing ten years onto one page. In the Gulf it can make you look junior.
- Too many personal details. Passport numbers, religion and full addresses don't belong on a CV.
- Duties instead of results. "Responsible for" bullets do not show what you delivered.

Should I write my date of birth and marital status on a Qatar CV?
Neither is required. Some Gulf employers and agencies still ask for date of birth, and adding it does no harm if a vacancy requests it. Marital status only matters when a package includes family benefits, and you can share it later in the process. If space is tight, keep nationality, location, visa status and notice period, and drop the rest.
Can I send the same CV to Qatar, the UAE and Saudi Arabia?
You can use one base CV, because the Gulf format is very similar across the GCC. Change three things for each country: the location line (willing to relocate to Doha, Dubai or Riyadh), the visa status wording, and the licensing line, since each country has its own regulators for healthcare, engineering and accounting. Then tailor the summary to each job ad.
Should I list my salary expectations on a Qatar CV?
No. Salary belongs in the application form, a recruiter call or the interview, not on the CV. Writing a number on the CV can price you out of a role or anchor you too low. Is a CV in Arabic needed for jobs in Qatar?
For most private-sector and multinational roles an English CV is standard and enough. Some government entities and Arabic-speaking roles may ask for an Arabic version or Arabic skills. If you speak Arabic, list your level in the languages section. Only send an Arabic CV when the vacancy asks for one, and make sure it is professionally checked.
Should I write Mr. or my religion on a Qatar CV?
Leave both out. Titles such as Mr. or Eng. add nothing a recruiter needs, although Eng. is common in the region and harmless. Religion, caste and similar personal details are not expected and can only distract.
